El Hierro is the smallest Canary Island, and is the most westerly of them all too, making it Spain’s most isolated territory. Sharply mountainous, lush, dramatic and ringed by beaches, this peaceful island is exceptionally beautiful, and for many centuries was considered ‘The end of the World’ by Europeans. While mass tourism will likely never reach El Hierro, the island does have some impressive hotels for visitors to enjoy, none more so than the four-star Hotel Parador de El Hierro.
