The Parador de Calahorra is a red brick construction built amidst large gardens with palm trees and flowers which runs along the full length of a main street in Calahorra, which is located on the plains of the Ebro River in the Cidacos Valley that flows from west to east through to the south of the Pyrenees Mountains that form the border between Spain and France. The plains of the Ebro River are very fertile and a large proportion of the land is used for growing the grapes that make the famous Rioja red wine.
Calahorra used to be known by its Roman name of Calagurris. The most famous building here is the Cathedral which has wide portals and large windows. The other places to visit here are all religious such as the churches of Santiago and San Andres, the Convent of the Carmelitas and the Bishop's Palace.
This Parador de Calahorra offers 52 twin guestrooms, one double, 2 suites and 5 single rooms. All come complete with private bathroom with hairdryer, direct dial telephone, satellite television and a mini bar. All of them have air-conditioning and central heating.
